And now that we have 4 little kiddos, I really love sharing with them some of my favorite traditions, but also creating new ones. Yes, we celebrate Santa around here and love the magic that he spreads worldwide. But, something that we teach year round and then love celebrating at Christmas time……is the birth of Christ. We have tried many different countdowns and stories and special Christmas bundles to help children learn of Christ…….

When I received the kit in the mail it had everything I needed to get going — the wood pieces were all cut and sanded, twine was provided for hanging the ornaments, and any fabric I needed was neatly folded and ready for me to cut. The only things I needed to provide were the paint, paintbrushes, sandpaper for antiquing, a glue gun, and a thin black marker for adding eyes to the people — all of which I already had at home. It also comes with a drawstring bag to hold all the ornaments for safe keeping. To go along with each ornament, there is is a book full of stories about Christ — one for each of the 25 days. Though it takes a few hours to put together, it is really quite easy. So you can get right started into the painting….
This post is sponsored by 25 Days of Chris t, but my opinions are my own. Every year after Halloween I start thinking about Christmas and usually come up with a pretty grand plan of how we will celebrate as a family. The plan usually includes us reading Christmas stories together in the morning before everyone heads to school and work, singing carols and drinking cocoa around the tree every night before bed, decorating gingerbread houses, ice skating, and most of all teaching my kids about the true meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate the birth of our Savior. But in reality our December days are spent hurrying here and there and my well intentioned plans fall by the wayside and we settle for reading the nativity story from Luke on Christmas Eve, as I vow to do better next year. But not this year.
